So Light I Can Hardly Tell I’m Wearing Shorts: Pearl Izumi Rev Short [Review]

2013-09-04 87

I pair my Pearl Izumi Rev shorts with my Divide jersey and I enjoy cool, comfortable, and dry rides. Much like the Divide jersey, these shorts were designed with particular regard to airflow, style, and comfort. My most favorite feature of the short, the Direct Vent paneling across the front of the pant, keeps the air flowing where it is inevitably needed. Combined with the super light Transfer Dry fabric, these shorts keep me cool on even the hottest of days.

Durability is always something I like to keep in mind when finding the perfect short to ride in and, even though these shorts are extremely light, they are still durable and withstand the abuse that I often throw at them. Where I have been riding recently is an extremely vegetated area with branches and twigs in every direction and although my arms get scratched up at times, my shorts still look brand new.

The chamois appears to be very minimal and lightweight to match the shell but is surprisingly comfortable. I haven’t experienced any discomfort in Pearl Izumi’s Rev Short and they continue to keep me dry and cool on the trail.
